Who keeps your website running smoothly once it’s live?
Congratulations! Let’s assume your website is live and working beautifully. Customers can find you and they are impressed.
How will you keep it that way? You have two choices. I can continue as website administrator and deal with all the techie stuff. You will be free to run your business.
Or, like they say in movies, it’s a wrap. I’ve designed and completed building your new website, I’ll give you access to the tools you need, and you can run everything by yourself now.
Either way, your website is important to you, and it’s worth protecting it against threats. The thing is, the software your website uses needs regular updates. Hackers are out there constantly looking for weaknesses. While you might think you aren’t the big fish they’re looking for, you may be collateral damage in their hunt.
Over time, there may also be things that will change, like adding a new phone number, a price update, or adding or removing an email user. It seems there are always things to do.
Option 1: I maintain your website for you, at $79 a month.
I stay as administrator of your website and your hosting account. Each month you’ll get a one-page report showing what was updated, any security threats that were found and how they were handled, whether your backups are working, and a quick health check, so you can always see that your website is in good hands.
As part of the maintenance plan, I will:
- Install updates safely, and quickly undo any update that causes a problem
- Check that your website stays online
- Make sure your website stays safe for your visitors to use
- Protect your website against known security risks
- Make sure there’s a fresh copy of your website every day, so it can quickly be put back the way it was if anything goes wrong
Small edits are included too, up to a maximum of 15 minutes each month. Things like: changing a phone number or a price, swapping out a photo, fixing a typo, adding or removing an email account. Unused time does not carry over to the next month.
Larger jobs are charged at $100 an hour, billed in 15-minute increments, with a 30-minute minimum. By “larger” I mean anything that goes beyond a quick text or image change: rewriting a page, adding a new page, installing a new plugin, restructuring the menu, redesigning a section, or adding a new feature. I’ll send you a quote, and I’ll get started once I receive payment.

Option 2: You maintain your website yourself, with no monthly fee.
If you'd rather manage your own website, that's okay. I'll give you access to the tools you need for that. You'll be in charge, and able to do your own edits and updates.
One caution: please be aware if anything goes wrong, I'll be happy to help you, but it will be charged at my hourly rate. I'll send you a quote for the work needed, and I'll get started once I receive payment.
Either way, you own your website.
Whichever option you choose it's your website and your domain. You fully own everything.
